Classic Tiramisu

Ingredients:
🍳 4 eggs (split into yolks and whites)
🍚 100 g granulated sugar
🧀 500 g mascarpone
🍪 200 g ladyfingers (boudoirs)
☕ 300 ml strong coffee (cooled)
🍷 2 tablespoons liqueur (Amaretto or Marsala, optional)
🍫 Unsweetened cocoa powder
🍫 Grated chocolate (optional)

Instructions:
Preparing Mascarpone Mixture:
In a large bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the mascarpone and mix until it is nice and smooth.
Beat egg whites until stiff:
In another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff. Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the mascarpone mixture, keeping it fluffy.
Dipping ladyfingers:
Pour the cooled coffee into a shallow dish. If desired, add the liqueur to the coffee. Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee quickly (be careful not to get them too moist).

Assembling the tiramisu:
Cover the bottom of a large bowl with a low-dipped ladyfingers. Cover it with a layer of the mascarpone mixture. Repeat these layers until all ingredients are used up, finishing with a layer of mascarpone mixture.
Sprinkle with cocoa:
Sprinkle the top layer of the tiramisu generously with unsweetened cocoa powder. Add grated chocolate if desired for extra flavor.
Chill and serve:
Place the tiramisu in the fridge for at least 4 hours (it is best to let it rest overnight) to allow the flavors to infuse properly.

Tips:
Variation: Add a little orange zest for a fresh twist.
