Vice President Kamala Harris claims she was the last person in the room with President Biden before the decision to withdraw from Afghanistan.

Former President Donald Trump is expected to criticize Vice President Kamala Harris on the third anniversary of the Abbey Gate bombing, which killed 13 Americans during the Biden administration’s Afghanistan withdrawal.

Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, will visit Arlington National Cemetery to honor the service members lost in the August 26, 2021, bombing at Hamid Karzai International Airport, which also claimed over 100 Afghan lives. The Islamic State group took responsibility for the attack.

Following this, Trump will address the National Guard Association of the United States conference in Michigan. Since President Biden ended his re-election bid, Trump has focused on Harris, particularly her claim of being the last person in the room before the decision to withdraw from Afghanistan was made.

Last week at a North Carolina rally, Trump criticized Vice President Kamala Harris, stating, “She bragged that she would be the last person in the room, and she was. She had the final say on pulling troops out of Afghanistan and was all for it.”

At the recent Republican National Convention, relatives of the 13 American service members killed in the Kabul bombing accused President Biden of never publicly naming their loved ones. In response to allegations that Trump disrespects veterans, including past claims of him referring to fallen World War II soldiers as “suckers” and “losers,” Trump has denied these accusations.

Under Trump, the U.S. signed a peace agreement with the Taliban intended to end America’s longest war and bring troops home. President Biden later referenced this agreement to deflect blame for the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, arguing it obligated him to withdraw troops and contributed to the ensuing chaos.
